any suggestions on how to choose a master's thesis topic?

My suggestion would be not to worry too too too much about it. If you are in a doctoral program, you'll want to be most careful about what you choose for your dissertation. For the master's thesis, just choose a manageable topic and get it done.

I completely agree. I'm in a combined masters and phd program. I see that so many students get hung up at the masters and have trouble moving onto the dissertation. They seem to think that their masters theses have to be fancy huge projects that set the world on fire. It would be MUCH better for them to choose something they can get done on time and meet the deadlines.

but what do i know? - I'm just a student myself. LOL

But i finished my masters paper very quickly and now i am thankful that I have some more time to play around with the dissertation. I think that the diss is far more important - personally and professionally.

you are lucky you get to pick a topic, my prof picked my topic... I didn't like it but had to stick with it... oh well thats life
