Looking for a grant for AT LEAST 2 years that will fund my research and salary.
I'm into very basic science (phage genetics/biochemistry) and don't think I can sell myself for biodefense grants.
I looked through lots of grants, but can't find anything that I would qualify for, or would provide funding necessary. He's
I'm a female, 23 year old, Half-italian (mom is from italy, so I am a citizen)
1/2 Pakistani (no citizenship, but I may be able to get a claim of ancestry document, something like a greencard)
My GPA in college was 3.25, my GREs Analytical writing/verbal/math= 96%/89%/76%
I'm a solid B student now.
I know, not sparkling, but I DO have a first authorship in virus research from my post-bac research internship-if that helps at all.
I am aware of NSF and HHMI grants, and shall try for both, though I've already tried NSF and was turned down flat (no honorable mention even!).
]
I'm at a relatively prestigious institution, but my department certainly isn't the "gem" of the school.
any advice appreciated
thanks
