So I've interviewed and been accepted at a few schools. Top of my list are Emory University and New York University. I CAN'T DECIDE!
Emory: PhD in Pharmacology, but an open program that allows me to rotate and ultimately get my PhD in any lab on campus (>300 Faculty). Stipend: 24K
NYU: PhD in Bio Medicine where I can similarly get my PhD in any department, any lab, w/ any faculty (>250 Faculty). Stipend: 27K
Both schools are good/great. Emory has the better academics, NYU has the name. They both have a TON of money.
NYU is Urban, Emory is Suburban but has ATL within 5 miles. I'm from NYC originally so I'm not impressed, per say, by Manhattan but I see the perks.
Standard of living considering the stipend is apx the same, a bit more lucrative at Emory.
ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE?!?!? I'll listen to any opinions, good or bad, w/ or w/o empirical evidence.
