DUI

My friend (yes my friend not me) got arrested for a DUI. The initial hearing is in a month. He was not out of control on the road, passed the field sobriety test and refused a Breathalyzer so theres a chance the penalities won't be severe. How much will this hamper his chances of graduate school acceptance. Thanks for your help.

they dont' ask that kind of think on the application so I think your friend will be fine. Is he/she going into a field that requires a background check or somethign?

He's applying to some school biological related..dunno if there are any specific checks for that field but I assumed there would be some form of background check...Thanks!

yea, i had a friend w/a similar issue but it didn't affect his application at all. In fact, I don't think anyone in the department knows.
