I have a 4 year International PoliSci degree from Western Washington State University. While I graduated with departmental honors my GPA is only a 3.5.

My global experience includes:
Studying EU/Globalizing Economics in Germany (semester)
Language Immersion Program in Central America (summer)
Orphanage Director/ESL Teacher in rural Kenya (fall)
ESL teacher in Thailand (winter)
ESL teacher in Korea (1 year)

I have published several articles online on about 20 liberal media websites and presented my thesis at university conferences. Won a couple awards/scholarships...but for the most part plan to gain practical work experience this spring at a state job before applying to grad school. I graduated a year and a half ago. I have yet to take the GREs....as they are not required by many overseas institutions....
I realize my GPA is low, but what are my chances at schools like SIPA, LSE or HEI in Geneva? Any other top schools I should consider.... or do you think my GPA pretty much makes it impossible. I'm trying to stand out from the crowd with my global experience...any feedback or first impressions would be great! I do realize GRE scores make a huge difference....
thanks all! :)

While your GPA is a bit low, you do have a good amount of experience abroad, which should be a major plus. I think with an outstanding statement of purpose and good letters of recommendation you would have a good shot (provided you have decent GRE scores... which might, at least partially, cover your lower GPA). Have you been working since you graduated? If not you MUST explain the gap.

Best of luck!
