I'm regretting an undergrad of utter underachievement (my GPA was "saved" by non-science honors classes, and 4.0s that were handed to me for research credit). Otherwise my science GPA is probably about ~3.10.

My only major plus is that I've had more than 3 years of research and I have published a first-author paper, as well as two other co-authorships. I double-degreed in Cellular/Molec./Dev. Biology and Biochemistry.

MIT is the school of my dreams (I've talked to people from there, watched lectures from there online, pored over their website, etc) and I'm freaking out because I'm afraid that there's absolutely no way I'm getting in because of my GPA.

I'm hoping for any input and/or advice. Thanks!

I have a similar situation. Probably about 4.3 science GPA by the time I am applying to grad school, but I am coming from MIT. I will have 4 years of research and 2-3 papers by application... I am also wondering about this poll.

If you have a 3.13 from one of the Ivies that would be fine. If not, its a long shot. A very long shot. Sorry.

I wish you the best!
