What is a Graduate Program Faculty Advisor?

I am applying at UHV.edu for an online program(MS-CIS). I want to ask how many students are enrolled in the program online. But I wanted to know if the Graduate Program Faculty Advisor would be able to answer these types of questions. Does anyone know if this is what they do or this a question for the Degree Plan counselor? What kind of questions can I ask the GPFA? Any advise or experience would be useful, thanks.
