Hello everyone:
Here's the rundown of my resume for the Film Studies programs I'm applying for. Any help to ease my tensions and give me an idea of what chances I have (I have not a clue, personally, since Film Studies is such a small area of studies) would be awesome! - University of Rhode Island. - English & Film Media Double Major. - 3.62 GPA, with the intention to graduate with honors. - Former Member of our freshman honor society and a current member of Golden Key. - A year's worth of experience as assistant editor of the school newspaper; teaching experience (for a potential TA position!) since September of '07 as a substitute teacher for a high school. - GRE Scores: Verbal (590) and Quantitative (730) I haven't received my Analytical scores yet, so a lot of this, I suppose, hinges on high marks there. Here are the schools I'm gunning for, in order of preference: University of Iowa New York University University of Southern California Emory University Emerson College Carleton University (Canada) I'd love to study at Iowa and I feel like NYU and USC--in particular, NYU--will be difficult for me to enter into. Therefore, I'm praying for Iowa to consider me worthy! My worry is that a 590 in Verbal is going to keep me out of these three schools, because many people profess that the "golden standard" of Verbal scores is 600 and above. Any thoughts? |
