Hi Everyone,
I am a new graduate student, about to start my grad studies in engineering
I have a question about publication: one of my summer employments was working with a professor in the states, and I worked really hard to write a paper on my work. with the help of a phd student's suggestions and revisions, I was able to complete the work.
My problem now is, for some reason or another, that professor who I worked for has decided to ignore all my emails since I've left... which means both myself and the phd student feel like my paper is publish-worthy, but the paper hasn't been revised by the professor. It has been almost one year now since i have occasionally sent him emails reminding him with no response.
I want to get this published, because I think the work IS novel and I think that it is a benefit to the community. What should I do? is it possible to publish without a professor's name? Would there be fees involved for publication that a grad student wouldn't be able to afford? Should I try to attack the problem head on, and perhaps email then call that professor?
Thanks everyone.
(btw, for background info, the only link between this professor and my current grad studies is the fact that we work in the same generalized field of research --- my current supervisor is not really in contact with my old supervisor)
