Waiting for professors / advisors feedback

Hey all-

How long do you guys have to wait to get feedback from professors, esp. advisors? My advisor takes 2-3 weeks to get back to me when I write her emails. Is this normal? She's driving me nuts.

I think it just depends on the professor/adviser.... are they swamped? Going for tenure? I heard professors disappear when they're in the year before they're up for tenure...
