Default finding schools with funding

I am just beginning my search for a graduate program. I want to go to school for Sociology. I am interested in Demography as a specialization so I have begun emailing students in the top Sociology grad programs to ask how they like their schools/ programs/ teachers. Most seem to enjoy all of the above, but everyone keeps telling me that my search needs to focus on what schools offer the most funding. How can I search this?
