Default public graduate schools versus private graduate schools

lauren - it depends on where you go. If you go for a private school then it will be pretty expensive. Public schools are less expensive for grad school.

totally true. Also depends on the program. If you are applying to business schools then you will have to pay an arm and a leg... or two. Same with law schools. But if you are a stellar student you might be able to get tuition waivers or some sort of reduced tuition for graduate school.

all true, yes. But if you are applying to for a doctorate degree you might not have to pay anything. you may be able to get fellowships, teaching assistantships and research assistantships that will cover the whole cost of your graduate degree or graduate degrees (if it is a combined masters and phd situation)

my school covers tuition but that's all. I have a job researching with a professor and that helps pay the bills. I also have a couple of loans to help me get through.
